Hoewel tafenoquine plus dihydroartemisinine-piperaquine statistisch superieur was aan dihydroartemisinine-piperaquine alleen, voor wat betreft de radicale genezing van Plasmodium vivax-malaria, was het voordeel niet klinisch relevant. Dit staat in contrast met eerdere studies waarin tafenoquine plus chloroquine klinisch superieur was aan chloroquine alleen.
